LeadHer Shift Ep.5 ft. Kaus Sharma – Leading with Intention
Episode 5 of LeadHer Shift features Kaus Sharma, who has spent the last two years building a business from the ground up, after working for years as a journalist and copy-write specialist, and now is leading the charge to help others live intentionally.
In This Episode
Kaus shared her views on the systemic challenges which women may face within the workforce, based merely on their gender and cultural norms, and some of the reasons that caused her to want more for self.
She made the point about seeing her boss struggle to have time for self when ill, and being forced to still work just as hard, and it was a reminder that work should really serve your life and not the other way around.
Kaus said, that in the midst of her career, although she may not have necessarily seen herself as a leader, she definitely learned quite a lot about what she did not want to see within her own business, as she would inevitably lead others.
Here's some of her advice shared about what she would like to create as a leader within the working space that many may not consider today:
- Let employees explore different fields, and empower them to learn more than just their area of expertise. Empower your team as an individual, don't control them, and keep them happy; and,
- See your team as collaborators and not just employees. Help your team to feel like you are collaborating as opposed to them just working for you. You may get more out of them that way.
With taking that bold step she's now leading the charge to help others live intentionally, with a constant reminder, even to herself, that imposter syndrome does not serve the greater good.
Take a listen to learn more about Kaus, her adventures along the way, and how she is taking the time to discover herself as a leader.
About Kaus Sharma
I am Kaus and about two years ago, I left my high-paying copywriting desk job to live a life of a multi-passionate conscious entrepreneur.
Precisely, I work as an Intentional Living Coach, copywriter/content creator, ESL teacher & a Podcaster. I help people become more intentional with themselves & the environment around them by creating content on & talking about experience-based living, slow lifestyle, sustainability, conscious entrepreneurship, mindfulness, meditation & wellness.
I'm a big advocate of creating a life that you love & that's what I teach, talk, and promote about non-stop. I want to live in a world where people get up & live their Ikigai (their reason to jump out of bed).
I live by the consciousness of this quote:
"My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive, and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humour and some style." - Maya Angelou
